Meet Laura Black
your Flower Mound local sommelier, entrepreneur, and owner of CLINK Wine Bar +
Bites. Laura began her career in the restaurant industry in her teens as a
server. While pursuing a Bachelor’s in Marketing she continued to work in
restaurants serving, bartending and even in the kitchen.
Growing up, her
mother was a big fan of wine and inspired her to learn more about wine. During
a trip to Napa and Sonoma she fell in love with wine and the stories it tells
of where it comes from and how it was crafted. A few years after graduation a
unique opportunity came her way to work representing Brown-Forman’s iconic
spirits and wine brands. She jumped at the opportunity and spent 11 years
representing brands like Jack Daniel’s, Korbel and Sonoma-Cutrer Wines.
Along the way her
passion for wine increased leading her to take several spirits and wine classes
and get certifications from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and the Court
of Master Sommeliers. Over the years friends and family heard often about her
love of wine and dream of opening a wine bar. Bolstered by their support she
began researching, drafting a business plan, and finding the perfect location.
CLINK is the culmination of all that hard work.
As Laura says, “Wine is
about community. It is meant to be shared with family or friends while enjoying
moments big and small. My job is to find you a great glass or bottle to enjoy
that enriches your experience”.
